Students of the Rehabilitation Centre met at the PRG Palm Residency Hotel (ex-Le Surmer) yesterday for a New Year’s lunch hosted by the Pillay R Group
Present for the lunch were Social Affairs, Community Development and Sports Minister Vincent Meriton, general manager of Pillay R Group Ramu Pillay, Celine Fanchette, chairperson for the disabled committee, students and staff of the Rehabilitation Centre.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Pillay for his support to the Rehabilitation Centre and I hope you take the initiative of making this an annual activity. I would also like to wish you all a prosperous New Year,” Minister Meriton said.
Mr Pillay assured Minister Meriton and all those present that his company will support the centre and will host the lunch annually.
Maria Barbé, who was celebrating her birthday, had the honour to cut the cake alongside Minister Meriton.
All the students received a gift each from Mr Pillay and they danced the afternoon away after having enjoyed the lunch.
